Frequently Asked Questions
Toilet training your pet can be ruff, but it doesn't have to be. Oui Oui Patch is a speciality REAL grass pet toilet that makes potty training as easy as possible.
It's simple: the correct substrate (soil & grass!), and consistency.
By harnessing your dog's incredible sense of smell with the Oui Oui Patch, and by consistently helping them associate the correct behaviour with sound, location and smells, your pet will be house-trained in no time at all.
Our training method is guaranteed to offer you the best shot at properly potty training your puppy, even before they've had all of their vaccinations. Not only is it the same substrate as in the park, it offers your pet the opportunity to practice within the safety of their new home. Using consistent positive training techniques & your Oui Oui Patch, your pet will be house trained in no time at all.
We believe that every pet should have constant access to nature, even when living in apartments. By training your pet to go potty on grass, they are far less likely to have accidents within your home. Oui Oui Patch also offers pawrents peace of mind, knowing that even if it is raining, snowing or dark outside, their pet will have a safe place to go without needing to pull out the cleaning products.
Our ultimate goal is to reduce new pet owner blues by simplifying toilet training and encouraging breeders to start training new litters on the correct substrate (soil & grass) instead of puppy pee pads or artificial grass. As potty accidents are the leading reason for pet abandonment, we hope that with Oui Oui Patch, fewer pets will be at risk.
Of course! Oui Oui Patch is for pets of all ages. In fact, for elderly dogs who suffer from incontinence, Oui Oui Patch offers them the comfort of always having fresh grass to use when they need to.
Oui Oui Patch is also for any pet owner:
(a) Without a backyard;
(b) Who has a busy schedule;
(c) Who wishes to avoid pet accidents around the home;
(d) Who doesn’t want to subject their dogs to extreme weather, such as wind, rain, snow or cold;
(e) Who wants to avoid going out late at night;
(f) With limited mobility;
(g) With a old, injured or unwell pet;
(h) Who is eco-conscious;
(i) Who is sick of cleaning artificial grass, pee pads or kitty litter; or
(j) Who is Covid Isolating.
For dogs, it is very important that they have constant access to nature. This is not only for toileting, it is equally important for their mental stimulation and enrichment. Think green bathing for pets!
Also when dogs are forced to use pee pads, they are often then confused by other surfaces in your home that feel similar under their paws. By letting them only potty on grass, your pet is creating a positive association with nature and pottying as well as letting them be the good boys and good girls they want to be!
As a natural product, Oui Oui Patch is good for both your pet and the environment.
Oui Oui Patch grass is 100% natural and biodegradable and it's packaging is made out of cardboard and is therefore widely recyclable. We also line our boxes with a 100% natural water-resistant coating, making sure your floor and the planet are cared for. If disposed of in as garden waste, Oui Oui Patch can be transformed into compost.
In contrast, puppy pads are not recyclable and take up to 500 years to decompose in landfill. Artificial grass is not only plastic, but it also starves the soil of oxygen, meaning that all burrowing insects and organisms are suffocated.
This depends on a few factors: the size of your pet, how frequently you anticipate it being used, whether there is access to sunshine and how frequently you spritz the Oui Oui Patch with water. For small pets like Dachshunds, French Bulldogs and cats, we recommend replacing your Oui Oui Patch every 2 weeks. For medium to large pets, we recommend replacing your Oui Oui Patch weekly, (this is our most popular subscription). Monthly patches are for tiny pets or those who will be using the patch infrequently. Switching between plans is easy once you set up an account with us! Just email help@citydoggo.com !
Oui Oui Patches measure 60cm by 50cm by 4.5cm.
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Oui Oui Patches are never meant to replace walking your dog. Dog walks are vital for not only exercise, but also for socialisation and mental enrichment. Oui Oui Patches are there to act as a solution to days where it is not possible to go to for multiple walks with your dog. This could be due to weather, work commitments, illness or incomplete vaccinations.
Our grass is harvested fresh for every order to ensure the lushest grass for your pet. Orders are sent out each Monday & Wednesday for arrival the next day. Make sure you put in your mobile number to receive your 1hr delivery slot from DPD & download their app to nominate a safe place for your Oui Oui Patch to be left. We deliver to the UK mainland only.
Liquids are naturally absorbed by the grass root structure which also helps to control any odour. Our boxes are also coated with two layers of water-resistant coating, keeping your box as strong and dry as cardboard can be.
Remember to place the lid of your box underneath the base for extra protection. Once the box begins to loose its firmness, it means the grass has absorbed all the liquid it can and its time for a new Oui Oui Patch.
Our wooden trays are available for now, and these will offer your floor ample protection.
When it arrives, open it up and place the cardboard lid underneath the base. The use a spray bottle to give it a good spritz with water straight away. We suggest spritzing it each morning to give it the best shelf life. Never pour water onto it though as this could make the cardboard box soggy. The goal is to keep the soil under the grass slightly moist at all times.We recommend that you keep the grass in a space where it receives a bit of sunlight. We also recommend picking up any doggie poos just as you would in the park.
Absolutely! Most dogs get the hang of the Oui Oui patch immediately. But for those who don’t, please visit our blog for helpful training tips. Otherwise, email us at help@citydoggo.com and we will ask our training expert for tailored advice.
If your dog is trying to dig in their Oui Oui Patch, try:
1. Observing their use; if they start to dig, say “no” in a firm voice and move them away from the Oui Oui Patch. After a few minutes, return to their Oui Oui Patch and encourage them to relieve themselves. Repeat as required.
2. Providing a fun distraction; digging can often be a sign of boredom, so if you catch them digging, move them away from the Oui Oui Patch and start playing with them (e.g. tug of war or throwing a toy around). As they get involved in this preferred activity, give them lots of praise and treats!
3. Leaving their waste on the digging spots; putting your dog’s poo in the spots where they have dug should act as a deterrent for many pets. Similarly, transferring some of their urine to the patch can help designate the patch as their toilet.
4. Finding an alternative digging spot; if your dog is inclined to dig, then consider making them an acceptable digging spot e.g. a box of fabric or a sandbox on the balcony.
No problem! We will leave it outside your door. But if your home is hard to find, please leave detailed instructions via the notification sent to you by DPD. Or email us at help@citydoggo.com, well ahead of delivery.
The patch, sleeve and box are fully biodegradable, so most people can simply put them in their normal refuse. However, if your council separates into garden waste and recyclables, place the patch in the garden waste (usually the green bag) and the cardboard box and sleeve in the recyclables. Please refer to your local council website for more personalised information.
As Oui Oui Patch is perishable, goods can only be cancelled the day before despatch by 6pm. Hot weather, extreme wet weather and cold weather are all elements which affect the aesthetics of the grass. City Doggo will not compensate for any grass that does not look exactly like a photo or grass you have received previously. We will only compensate for grass that has been been subjected to delayed delivery/ damage caused by couriers, which we will assess and deem if it will affect the ability to function as a dog toilet following photographic evidence. Similarly, if you are unhappy with the quality of grass, please send us a photo on the day of delivery. Please contact us if you have any issues at help@citydoggo.com.
We can only cancel and refund orders up to the day before despatch by 6pm, no later. Our cancellation policy requires a minimum of two orders to be placed before cancellation. This is regardless of the quantity of patches ordered per order (For example if you place one monthly susbcription order with 2x patches each month, this still counts as 1 order).
If you have an existing or open order, please send us an email saying whether you would like to cancel this too. Keep in mind that this MUST be 24hrs before despatch.
We would ask that our customers please cancel and edit their subscriptions themselves by logging into their customer portal and selecting the "Manage Your Subscription" option, or view this step-by-step video:

If you are having issues doing so, we will try our best to help.
All subscriptions require a minimum of 2 orders before cancelling. However, we do also offer the One Off Trial that is a single purchase with no subscription or minimum order. Feel free to contact us at help@citydoggo.com for specific questions.
Our grass, like all natural plants, is subject to change season to season. During summer months, or during particularly warm periods, the grass may not last as long as it would in wet winter months. This is all dependent on the weather that the farm experiences at the time. During summer, make sure you give the patch extra water and keep it out of direct sunlight to give it the best shelf-life possible.
We would recommend a few drops on lemon juice added to the water you use to maintain your Oui Oui Patch. You could also surround the Oui Oui Patch with mosquito-repelling plants. These common, mosquito-repelling plants are also safe for pets: Basil, Catnip, Lemon balm, Rosemary. However, be sure to avoid toxic plants like geraniums, citronella, peppermint, lavender, some varieties of marigolds, and garlic — all of which can be harmful to animals if eaten.
We would not recommend placing Oui Oui Patches on indoor wooden floors, as the boxes are not waterproof and may cause damage if the patch becomes too saturated.
Our wooden trays in combination with the Oui Oui Patch boxes are sufficient to protect your indoor floors. However, whilst a dog is new to the patch we still recommend keeping the patch on a balcony or a tiled floor. This is because dogs new to the patch, and in particular puppies, can sometimes "go" on the edge of the tray - meaning urine can spill down the side of the tray and seep underneath. Our Leg Lifters are designed to help with this issue of aim, in conjunction with encouragement from pet owners. In the beginning stages a balcony or tiled floor allow for easy clean up in the event of this kind of spillage. However, once your pup is well trained, our wooden tray + Oui Oui Patch combo will protect your wooden floors from leakage.
Not all DPD drivers deliver Oui Oui Patch equally, so we have made our packaging strong enough to withstand most situations. Our boxes are made from the thickest and highest grade cardboard available to protect the grass during delivery and the water resistant coating protect it from the weather. Rest assured that the lifespan of the grass will not be impacted even if your Oui Oui Patch is delivered vertically. However, in this situation the grass may be bunched up inside the box.
To help straighten the grass out without creating any mess, we suggest the following: While holding the box flat with both hands (and with the sleeve still around the box) give the box a good shake from left to right. Place the box flat and cut off the sleeve. Then remove the lid and place it underneath the base. Pat down the grass if necessary and, of course, spritz the grass with water to hydrate it. We demonstrate this process in our video here.
